Replacing bar tape enhances both the aesthetics and grip of the handlebars.

The process involves carefully removing the old tape, which may include taking off any existing bar plugs.

The mechanic then cleans the handlebars and places a layer of any necessary padding, ensuring a smooth and comfortable grip.

The new tape is applied evenly, often starting from the bottom of the handlebars and wrapping upward in a consistent spiral, securing it with adhesive backing or finishing tape.

Finally, the mechanic will reinsert bar plugs to secure the tape in place.
