Jona is a young cycling from Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.
2023 was his first season of competitive racing. Prior to that he rode to and from school, and then in late 2022 started taking a more serious interested in riding for fun.
‘Jona the Dropped’ is a name Jona came up with after meeting Cycling Tom and deciding to have some fun with sharing his cycling adventures online. It reflects the early stage he's at on his competitive cycling journey and also early stage of physical growth, leading to his kinda occasional experience of getting dropped from the bunch in cycling events.
The name also reflects his good sense of humour. Jona is a friendly and gregarious guy who likes to make friends, have fun, and really really likes riding his bikes.
