I (Dad/manager) can still remember Jona telling me there was a cycling jersey on sale he really wanted. I just couldn't understand why you needed special clothes to ride a bike.

Well, once you're doing anything more than riding to the local dairy, you do.

You need close fitting clothing that is cool and aerodynamic. Then in the winter it needs to be warm and aerodynamic.

Cycling jerseys have pockets in the lower back so you can keeps snacks and other stuff in a accessible place while you're riding.

The shorts have a chamois (pronounced shammy or shuhm-wa if you're fancy) inside them. It's like a nappy sown into the shorts that makes sitting on a bike seat more comfortable.

For riding very fast you'll be waiting a skin suit or speed suit. They're basically a cycling onesie. You can buy what our Olympians wear for $3600 … sharing that just so the $200+ they generally cost won't give you a heart attack.

Arm warmers and leg warmers can go on the shopping list too. They keep limbs warm at the start of a ride then can be slid off and stored in those convenient back pockets.
