Check out Jona's ride in Te Miro Mountain Bike Park with Toby and Zac doing the April School Holidays 2023. We tried something different for this video - we duct taped my old iPhone 5c onto Toby's seat. The sound is a bit annoying and it turned pink for a bit (mostly corrected) but still, it captures the experience. Te Miro MTB's more»

On Sunday 7 April 2024 Jona rode the under-17’s grade in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty Centre Road Championship hosted by Forestland Wheelers Cycling Club in Tokoroa. Waikato, New Zealand.
We knew it would be tough riding in an age group race with just five other guys (and two girls) but being in the region this weekend we figured why not.

The 2024 Te Awamutu Tour (TA Tour) was on March 23 & 24. It started with an individual time trial on Saturday morning followed by the flat and fast Stage 2 around the Flume/Aspin/Fencourt circuit. The Queen stage was on Sunday up Te Miro Hill.
There were 5 grades from A to E. Jona rode in D and finished right in the middle of the general classification.
It was a fantastic event! Despite the rain on Saturday Jona had a great time. The organisers and volunteers at TASC do a fantastic job, thanks heaps to all of them.

The CNZ Auckland & CMC ITT and road champs were on 16 & 17 March 2024
Jona is in u17's now, so the competition is even more brutal than last year. Jona's time trial was 2:25 faster than last year, but all credit to Max who improved by 4:43!
A lot fewer people did it this year compared with last year :/ Hopefully this isn't a trend.

Cycling is a winter sport in New Zealand, even though it’s a summer sport everywhere else.
So this short video is about how Jona filled in the gap - the combined-schools cycling group party, going to the gym and getting back on tennis courts (albeit without a racket) where he spent a lot of time until cycling took over.

Just posted a bunch of videos covering activities over Summer, officially off-season for cycling here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This video includes hanging out at Jona’s uncle’s place in Tamahere/Matangi (until he sold it) and riding to and around Cambridge from there, along with rides from home in Auckland.
He had a dramatic crash on Ayr Street in Auckland, colliding with a car doing a u-turn. Miraculously lost only a little skin and a fairly new helmet.
